Small French double D buckle, reversed tongue

This small buckle is intended for officers or gentlemen belts.

The iron  tongue set on the lateral lobe of the buckle prevents scratching soldier's skin or clothing. Like on the originals, both faces have rounded profiles.

Similar objects were found at Louisgourg Fortress and other French military sites.
